She was too worried about why is Netflix not working on Roku. Honestly, I wasn’t worried about this issue and was only glad to finally break her continuous hours of Netflix sessions on her Roku but I promised to fix it for her.

It didn’t take me even an hour to fix these Netflix Roku issues and so here I am today to share all my tricks and tips to resolve this issue of Netflix not working on Roku Tv.

What Does a Netflix Error on Roku Tv Look Like?

As I explained to her, it is very important to determine where the error is before you proceed to counterattack the bug of Netflix Roku problems.

If you encounter Netflix app not working on Roku tv, it will look like –

  1. Netflix takes forever to load on Roku Tv.
  2. Nothing happens when you click on the ‘Netflix icon’.
  3. Netflix not loading on Roku tv
  4. When Netflix launches, only a ‘black screen’ shows on Roku Tv.

If any of the problems mentioned above sound similar, then for sure it is one of the Netflix Roku issues and trust me you are not the only one who faced it. After a fair amount of research and troubleshooting, I was able to chalk out a few techniques which can troubleshoot the issue of Netflix not loading on Roku Tv and they are here , in this article, ready to be served and shared with you.

How to Fix Netflix Not Working on Roku Smart Tv? Discover 10 Ways

How to fix Netflix not working on Roku Smart Tv

All the troubleshooting techniques which I am going to be sharing here today , apply to all of the streaming players of Roku i.e. The Roku Express, the new Roku Ultra, the Roku Streaming bar and the Roku Streaming Stick.

The apps which are installed and watched over any smart device need to be updated regularly for they run purely on software. Check out the fixes mentioned below to identify what kind of error does your Netflix has begun to run and why you have been stuck up with Netflix not loading on Roku Tv.

1. Check Netflix’s Server

Check Netflix’s server

I was pestered with this question why Netflix won’t load on my Roku Tv. I had to ensure there’s no ‘server down-time’ for Netflix.

‘Server down-time’ means there is an issue with the server of the Netflix app or say any other app you are facing the same issue with, from the back-end itself.

Now , how does one get to know about whether the server is down or not ? Use Down Detector to check the status of the Netflix server. It will update with the latest status of Netflix’s server.

If the server is down for netflix , then sadly, you’ll have to practice patience and wait for it to resume. There is nothing active you can do from your end about it and will have to wait for the app’s server to be fixed from Netflix’s end.

Any odd day when you find your Roku Tv also behaving the same way when it just won’t load, How to fix a slow Roku Tv will help you bring your Roku Tv back to life again.

2. Check the Limit of Connected Devices on Netflix

Check the limit of connected devices on Netflix.

The second step in troubleshooting Netflix not working on Roku Tv is to crosscheck how many devices are connected to your Netflix account. There is a limit that has been set for possible connected devices with each subscription plan.

A very basic / beginner’s plan permits only one device’s access into the Netflix account. More devices or people who use the same account can be connected on the same account when you upgrade to a subscription of higher amount.

The standard plan of Netflix subscription allows two devices on its account whereas four people can watch shows on your Netflix plan if you have chosen the ‘premium plan.’

Now, if more people , say your friends or siblings , are streaming content on the same account simultaneously , it is obvious for the Netflix app to hang up.

The only solution to tackle this one is to ask an extra one member(s) to disconnect and make them stop watching. Or if you can’t bear any heartbreak, upgrade to the premium plan and you won’t have to worry about deleting devices.

I hope, by removing one or two devices or in case you decide to upgrade to the premium plan, Netflix must have begun to load on your Roku Tv. However, if you still couldn’t get past the Netflix Roku problems, move on to the next point.

3. Roku TV Needs a Restart

Roku TV needs a restart.

With some issues like the one you are dealing with, a simple straightforward answer is the one you need. Since your Roku Tv and Netflix have still not gelled up, choose to restart your Roku tv. Maybe this is all that it needs.

  2. Now, unplug it and let it sit for about a minute.
  3. This step is meant for soft resetting your Roku Tv. The apps will be closed and the RAM will be cleared. This might be causing the Netflix app to unload.
  4. Plug it back now and give that life back !! Switch it on.

Now, try logging in again in the Netflix app. It should work well after your Roku Tv has been reset softly for good.

Though in this case restarting Roku helps solve the problem, but if it becomes a problem in itself, refer to the article on fixes for Roku restarting itself.
