Today I am back with another Hisense topic. Some users have asked me about the possible fixes if their Hisense TV won’t turn on? If you face this problem, you’re in the perfect place. This article will discuss five fixes that can solve this problem.

Reasons for Hisense TV Not Turning On

Generally, the reasons for a TV not turning on is more or less the same for all the brands be it Hisense or VIZIO. In-fact , I covered this topic extensively for VIZIO here.

Before moving towards the solutions for the ‘Hisense TV won’t turn on’ problem, you need to know the reasons that cause this problem in the first place.

A Problem in Power Socket

The most common reason behind your Hisense TV not turning on could be the power socket to which your TV is connected. I have seen this in many instances when a TV is not connected properly to the power outlet, and people complain that their TV is not turning on.

Check that your TV is connected properly to the power socket, else it won’t start. There are also instances when the TV is connected just fine to the socket but the socket itself is not working properly. In that case, simply plug your TV to a different power socket.

Check your Remote

Sometimes, the problem remains with your remote and not your Hisense TV. There might be some damage to your remote for which it is unable to send signals to your Hisense TV. I have also done an extensive article on Hisense TV remote problems.

These can be because of the dead batteries, or your remote might be damaged. Also, it might happen if there is something between the TV and remote obstructing the signals. Make sure there isn’t any opaque object between the two devices.

Check the Inputs

Another reason your Hisense TV might not turn on could be wrong input to the TV. Check if all the HDMI inputs are appropriately connected or not, as they play the most important role in the display. In case you are looking to change input, you can refer to this article of mine – How to change input on Hisense Tv.

Above listed reasons are the most common factors due to which your Hisense might not be turning on.

Based on these reasons, I have listed down 5 fixes that you could apply before calling a technician.

5 Fixes for Hisense Smart TV Not Turning on

If you see that your Hisense Smart TV isn’t working, no need to worry. Try some simple techniques to sort out the problem. I’ve listed them below.

Reset your TV

One of the best ways to recover your Hisense TV is to reset it. Here’s how to do it:

Step I: First, remove all the connected devices and the power cable from your TV.

Step II: Access the power button of your TV, located either on the back or side of your model and press and hold it for at least 30 seconds.
This process will drain all the power from your TV, and you will be able to start it.

Step III: After the process is done, wait for a minimum of 30 minutes and then turn your TV back ON.

Unplug all the Network Devices

You will often see the Hisense TV flashing red light or a blue light 2 to 6 times and won’t turn on. This problem generally occurs due to the connection of your TV to which it is connected. Try resetting your router or modem, from where the internet comes to the TV.

"Unplug

Step I: For a router, to reset it, keep it plugged into your TV.

Step II: Find the reset button located at either bottom or the back of your device, and hold it for 30 seconds.

Step III: Release the button, and wait for the router to power back on.

Now check if your Hisense TV is running smoothly or not.

Check the Backlight

Another common hardware issue obstructing Hisense TV from turning on is LED backlights failure. Your TV will not display any picture; however, the sound might work well, with the Hisense TV red light blinking. LED backlights generally fail due to a shortage in either power board circuitry or the mainboard.

Here’s what to do:

Step I: First, turn on a flashlight (phone flashlight can work) and point it to your Hisense TV at a close distance.

Step II: See minutely onto the TV screen and observe if there is any visible content.

If you see anything, you’re sure that the backlight is broken. It is a significant problem, and you alone can’t fix it. Call an expert to repair the backlights or buy a new one.

Hardware Problem

Apart from the issues mentioned above, some hardware problems can also be present in your TV. Some of them are listed below.
